Description
🥃 BOULDER PEATED AMERICAN SINGLE MALT WHISKY
Alcohol Percentage (ABV): 46% (Standard Release) | Varies (Cask Strength for EWF, e.g., 57%)
Taste & Flavor Profile: This American Single Malt is crafted to showcase peat as an accent, not the main event. The nose is a lovely intersection of sweet vanilla, dark chocolate, and toasted nuts, with a background of gentle campfire smoke and earthy moss. The palate is rich and full, delivering flavors of creme brûlée, dark toffee, and spicy cinnamon, which are balanced by a subtle, intriguing wood smoke and a hint of citrus zest. The finish is long and warming, with the dry spice of oak and lingering earthiness.
Key Details: This whiskey is distilled in Boulder, Colorado, using lightly peated malted barley and aged for a minimum of three years. Unusually for a Single Malt, it is matured exclusively in virgin American Oak barrels with a #3 char, which provides the rich vanilla and toffee notes more commonly associated with bourbon. The extreme temperature swings in Colorado accelerate the aging process. The EWF bottling is a special Single Cask selection, often bottled at Cask Strength, offering a more intense, often more fruit-forward and powerful take on the core profile.
